Day 2
Rome
Hello everyone and welcome back. I’m assuming you have just read my first email. I meant to send that out yesterday and apparently I sent it four times Unfortunate start to the trip and the email list.
Day 2 however was very successful. We woke up and went over to a market near our AirBnb to get groceries for our time in Rome. We met many different vendors and did lots of samples. We brought our haul home and I made everyone sandwiches. These were the best sandwiches I have ever created. A work of art.
We then took a nap and then walked to the Trevi Fountains. The fountain was beautiful, massive, and crowded. It was much larger than I expected and I learned that the water was flowing from one of the original Roman aqueducts.Â
After the fountain we went on a tour through the Vatican Museum. It was stunning and beautiful. There was so many pieces of art, I could have spent a days walking around. Here are a few favorites.Â
The last portion of the tour involved going into the Sistine Chapel. It was absolutely incredible. Almost as beautiful as the sandwiches I made.Â
We wrapped up the day with some pizza and made a friend named Victoria.
